Synopsis[]
The first part of the chapter has Mikuni meeting with Kiryuu Sensei and clearing the air about Mikuni's relationship with Keita (or rather lack of one) and getting on the same page regarding Kiryuu's participation (or not) in the beach trip. In exchange for keeping her secret, Kiryuu promises to protect Mikuni from the teasing of the boys regarding Keita. As the discussion seems to close, Mikuni recalls her previous interactions with Kiryuu were the teacher tried to use Mikuni to manipulate Keita and the problems that caused. She also calls Kiryuu on her own apparent interest in Keita, but the conversation is interupted. Mikuni heads back to the classroom for the end of the day only to find much of the class is still there, including now, Ako and Riko. Not aware of Kiryuu Senpei's desire to keep her involvement in the beach trip secret, the twins nearly spill the beans, when Mikuni barely stops them in time. However the class does get verification that Mikuni and Keita were at the beach together but it is confirmed by the sisters that it was only as part of a larger group. This seems to quiet the class rumour mill, and Mikuni seems comfortable that most of the truth is revealed. At this point Kiryuu Sensei also reenters the classroom seeking Keita, but the twins are fairly determined to take him home with them, and sooner rather than later. But Sensei is having none of that now! She raises her teacher voice and firmly reestablishes the hiearchy within the school, and commandingly sends all the students but Keita home. As she collects herself after the confrontation, Keita takes the opportunity to apologize for upsetting her with the missunderstanding after the summer festival. In the following discussion, they each agree to (at least in private conversations) refer to each other by their given names (Keita-kun and Yuuzuki without any significant honorifics - which by my understanding of Japanese culture is a very intimate familiarity when not immediate family) thereby giving their relationship a major reclassification. Keita makes it home in a suprisingly good mood, which makes Riko immediately suspicious. Close chapter.
